The Baker's Touch

This project reimagines the tale of King Midas through the story of a humble baker whose bread, once imperfect but heartfelt, gains sudden visual perfection after discovering a mysterious cookbook. Although the loaves appear flawless, they lose all warmth, flavor, and soul. The once-beloved bakery becomes cold and lifeless, revealing that beauty without feeling lacks true substance.

Rooted in themes of creative authenticity and the dangers of perfectionism, this reinterpretation explores how the pressure to please and over-polish can strip the craft of its humanity. The curse is only broken when the baker rediscovers the joy of imperfection and returns to baking with emotion and instinct.
